EXPO REAL 2005

The development of retail trade in inner-cities is a crucial concern of politics and economy in Europe. Hardly any project represents this aim as clearly as VITAL CITIES does. The cooperation of private actors and public authorities is in its focus. Also at the real estate fair EXPO REAL, which takes place annually in Munich, representatives of local authorities and regions from different countries get together with investors and retailers. In October 2005 18.000 professionals from 60 countries and 1.400 exhibitors from 35 countries attended the fair.

The project VITAL CITIES was introduced to a big audience at the stand Berlin-Brandenburg. The Berlin senator Ingeborg Junge-Reyer debated with Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Erich Greipl, president of the CCI Munich and Upper Bavaria and member of the supervisory board of the Metro AG (Inc.) as well as with Dr. Holger Schmitz, NÖRR STIEFENHOFER LUTZ, about VITAL CITIES as standard project for Public-Private-Partnerships.

Die Entwicklung des Einzelhandels in den Innenstädten ist ein zentrales Anliegen von Politik und Wirtschaft. Kaum ein Projekt steht so deutlich für dieses Ziel, wie VITAL CITIES. Im Zentrum steht das Zusammenwirken von privaten Akteuren und der öffentlichen Hand. Auch auf der jährlich stattfindenden Immobilienmesse Expo Real in München treffen sich Vertreter der Kommunen und Regionen aus vielen Ländern mit Investoren und Einzelhändlern. 18.000 Fachbesucher aus 60 Ländern und 1.400 Aus-steller aus 35 Ländern zählte die Messe im Oktober 2005.

Das Projekt VITAL CITIES wurde auf dem Gemeinschaftsstand Berlin-Brandenburg einem großen Publikum vorgestellt. Die Berliner Senatorin Ingeborg Junge-Reyer diskutierte mit Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Erich Greipl, Präsident der IHK München und Oberbayern sowie Mitglied des Aufsichtsrates der Metro AG sowie mit Herrn Dr. Holger Schmitz, NÖRR STIEFENHOFER LUTZ, über VITAL CITIES als maßstabbildendes Projekt für Öffentlich-Private-Partnerschaften.
